The role of education in Africa

With my first coffee in the morning,

Bakary Diallo, Rector of the African Virtual University  (African Virtual University, AVU, www.avu.org) was born in Senegal and educated in Canada, a veteran of education and new technologies, believes that e-learning can be a solution the shortcomings in Africa.

The AVU was born in 1997 as a World Bank proyect, is now a pan- African intergovernmental organization based in Nairobi with 53 centers in 27 countries.

Is becoming a very important role he is playing the role AVU spreading e-learning in Africa, despite the obstacles. The AVU, in eleven years, has 40,000 students and this is remarkable.

The role of education in Africa plays an important role. Overcome ignorance and create peace depends of  education.

Despite the crisis China will meet the objectives of its commitment to support the development of African countries and continue to encourage Chinese companies to increase their investments and business in Africa.

In recent years China has tripled trade with the African continent. The need for African natural resources makes the big powers like the United States, Europe and now the great emerging power of China to move to Africa.

Will benefit the African economy? This causes jobs to Africans?

The african continent, a continent rich in miniral resources and natural resources.

The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship promotes the work on social entrepreneurship and promotes the role of social entrepreneurs as key agents of change for progress and social innovation.

In this morning …

The black continent has always attracted tourists.

The african continent is urgently needed stable source of employment , one of the options for the female employment will be through the establishment and improvement of small hotels throughout the geography of the African continent.

With the aim that African entrepreneurs have their own businesses with the development of small  hotels  in areas that already have a certain flow of tourists, places where people have shown willingness to travel.

Small hotels could generate jobs and wealth for the community.

African women as a force for development projects through the development of training and funding.

For the  entrerpreneurs with fewer resources is one opportunity the development Marketplace, it is global competition in which there are winners that take some prizes that will develop your project.

The world’s development is an initiative of the World Bank to promote innovative ideas and commnunity solutions.

It is a program of competitive grants administered by the World Bank and supported by various partners that identifies  projects in their early stages and have great potential for positive impact on development.

The  world’s development in 2008 was a gift that is carried out in collaboration with the team for agriculture and rural development, in which there were 16 winners  from Latin America, Caribbean, East Asia, Pacific, Africa South of the Sahara , South Asia, India Mexico, Ecuador and Vietnam.

African universities play an important role in the development of entrepreneruship in Africa, can be a good starting point for an entrepreneur to develop a project.

Development of resources for young Africans can begin to develop their ideas at the same university will be important to start new businesses and jobs in the continent.

Promote entrepreneurship and enterprise development through training, etc… courses in leadership, entrepreneurship, business plan etc…

Develop research on business creation and entrepreneurship among university students from multi-discipline, providing new business models and innovative strategies in the current socioeconomic field.
